# Data and privacy questions

Identify whether information belongs to the Foxora account, cloud workspace, device runtime, browser profile, or an external provider before exporting or deleting it.

## Where is local data?

Desktop and CLI share a per-user Foxora data home: `~/.foxora` on macOS/Linux or `%USERPROFILE%\.foxora` on Windows. Projects, browser profiles, and downloads can live elsewhere.

## Can I export data?

Open **Settings → Data**. Preferences download immediately; supported cloud categories may be prepared as secure expiring links.

## Does sign-out erase local work?

No. Sign-out ends account access and clears session caches, but it is not a full device wipe.

## Does account deletion erase every copy?

It erases account-owned service records. Remove device-local files, provider grants, browser data, and prior exports separately.

**Expected result:** the chosen action affects only the intended data scope.
