# Adding an MCP server

Studio does not currently provide a generic form for registering an arbitrary MCP URL or stdio command. Add supported external tool access through the live Plugins catalog instead.

## Add a supported connection

1. Open `Settings` → `Plugins`.
2. Select `Add plugin` and search the available catalog.
3. Open a plugin to review its tools and authentication method.
4. Complete OAuth or the required credential fields.
5. Confirm the connected account, then allow only the needed tools or plugin access on the agent or channel that will use it.

## Expected result

The connected plugin's tools become discoverable to authorized Fennec runs. Unsupported custom endpoints are not silently added to Studio.
