# Monitor live progress

The `Active` tab refreshes execution activity so you can see the task and its child work as it changes.

## Follow a running task

1. Open `Runs` and choose `Active`.
2. Expand the run with `Details`.
3. Read the plan state and the nested specialist, command, or workflow process rows.
4. Check activity text, completed counts, tool counts, tokens, and duration when those metrics are available.
5. Use a process row’s stop control only when that specific background process should end.

## Expected result

The run progresses from Running or Waiting to Completed, Failed, or Stopped, and child rows remain attached to the correct parent. A moving status proves activity, not correctness; inspect the task transcript and final artifact before accepting the outcome.
