# Start a run

A run begins when real work starts from a task, specialist delegation, command, schedule, or workflow. Runs itself is not a launcher.

## Start traceable work

1. Create and send a `Task`, or select `Test run` in a workflow.
2. For scheduled work, activate the tested workflow and wait for its trigger.
3. Open `Runs` and choose `Active`.
4. Search for the title or task ID and expand `Details`.
5. Keep the originating transcript open when approvals or questions may need a response.

## Expected result

A Running or Waiting row appears with the correct source and child activity, then moves into history when finished or stopped. If no row appears, confirm the task was actually sent or the workflow trigger fired before diagnosing the Runs view.
