# Data and system settings

Data exports account content; System shows runtime connections, workspace or local-data details, startup behavior, versions, and narrowly scoped reset controls.

## Inspect or export safely

1. Open `Settings` → `Data`; use `Download` for instant Preferences JSON or `Export` for a cloud-packaged category.
2. Use `Export all` for one secure, expiring archive link. Exporting does not delete data.
3. Open `System` and recheck connection tiles, cloud workspace state, or the Desktop data folder.
4. Review startup, closing, application-version, and platform details before troubleshooting.
5. Use `Reset appearance` or `Reset onboarding` only after reading its stated scope.

## Expected result

The requested export starts or downloads, and diagnostics reflect the active runtime without clearing projects, sessions, channels, or account data.
