Already covered
The platform-specific install steps live in the main Installation guide. This page focuses on the parts unique to Ember OS.
First-launch checklist
- Sign in with your Foxora account.
- Pick a default model (you can change this per-agent later).
- Approve the file system permission prompt for the workspace directory.
- Optional: connect a browser session if you want web-tool agents.
Workspace directory
Ember OS keeps each agent’s files in its own folder under your home directory. Defaults:
# macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Foxora/workspaces/
# Windows
%APPDATA%\Foxora\workspaces\
# Linux
~/.config/Foxora/workspaces/You can move this directory in Settings → Storage. Existing agents will be migrated on next launch.
Updating
Ember OS checks for updates on launch and once a day after. When an update is ready you’ll see a small badge on the dock — clicking it restarts the app into the new version.
